Ann Cahill - Dalkey Sue Ryder ResidentThe Sue Ryder development in Dalkey is on one of the most prestigious sites in South Dublin, with views over the whole of the Dublin Bay. The site consists of 35 bungalows & 15 apartments.

Dalkey, as a beautiful village provides excellent services to the local community and promotes healthy living beside the sea. Dalkey has a wide variety of shops including many restaurants & coffee shops, bakeries, local retirement groups, a post office, newsagents, churches all a 2 minute walk from the Sue Ryder development. This along with its proximity to Dublin city centre makes Sue Ryder - Dalkey a wonderful place to live

Dalkey also promotes its heritage town status with local book festivals and talks and is proud of its locality with various festivals throughout the year such as the local Crab & Lobster Festival each August.

The Sue Ryder Foundation in Dalkey is a significant component in the community of Dalkey and the Foundation works with the local business and community groups to enhance the lives of the residents at the Dalkey development. The Foundation also opens its doors to retirees in the vicinity to avail of the activities held within the development, for example some take part in the walking groups and aerobics classes.

Computer classes are delivered by the Transition Year students from Loreto Dalkey with the aim of teaching the residents computer basics on a one to one basis.

A local priest comes and says mass on a Saturday evening in the beautiful oratory.

Dalkey Sue Ryder Centre residents

The residents in the Dalkey development are able to enjoy their retirement in a stress free environment, living independently in their charming bungalows or apartments with wonderful sea views. Within this close knit community residents have the opportunity to relax and to enjoy their retirement to the full.

Residents here at Sue Ryder - Dalkey particularly enjoy their home cooked meal every day, their weekly laundry service provided and their homes being cleaned from top to bottom. However, what all residents hold most dearly is their sense of security, knowing that there would be someone at the end of the phone, not only in the case of an emergency but also just to talk to.
